Ambient Electronic Doubleheader for Gallery Walk
On Saturday June 6th, Studio 36 will present two contrasting sets of ambient music by Thee Seldon Crisis and Eric Lanzillotta as part of their ongoing participation in Gallery Walk. While both artists will use electronic means to create shifting textural atmospheres, they source them from different means. Thee Seldon Crisis uses digital methods to manipulate and re-shape found and sampled sounds while Eric Lanzillotta uses the Moog synthesizer to sculpt sounds in real time from their basic elements. Each artist will perform for approximately one hour with sets starting at 5:30 and 7:00 PM. Given the drifting nature of the sound environments, participants may either settle in for the entire concert or wander in and out over the evening.
Eric Lanzillotta's music has been released in Germany, Belgium, Canada and the United States. From 1991 to 2004 he ran the music distribution service and record label Anomalous Records. He has worked a wide variety of musicians including Stuart Dempster, who is known for making Fort Worden's cistern known around the world.
Jason Buffington, a.k.a. Thee Seldon Crisis, has distributed music and video online via Bandcamp and YouTube. He is also active as a DJ, performing at The Cellar Door and other venues.
Both artists live in Port Townsend.
Performances at 5:30 and 7:00. Free admission; donations gratefully accepted.
