event scores by Chieko Shiomi
Hurrah! Huzzah! Studio 36 and friends (even Rocket J. Squirrel always had friends along) will be performing event scores from the Fluxus canon on Saturday May 2nd, between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 pm.
As part of Gallery Walk, this FLUXConcert will be an ongoing three hours of activity amenable to dropping in briefly or travelling along for the distance. For this event we will be presenting various pieces penned by Chieko (now Mieko) Shiomi in the early 1960s. If you can imagine a cross between haiku and vaudeville, you have an idea of where this is going. An open mind and a sense of humor is all that is needed to enjoy, but there will also be a few opportunities to interact with the proceedings.
Appearing this Saturday will be (in alphabetical order): Denise Banker, Anna Crisafi, Camille Hildebrandt, Eric Lanzillotta and David Noble. Admission is free, but donations to offset the cost of props and snacks are more than welcome.
